The state-of-the-art saw milling, block board and plywood units, situated on the Mangalore University road, cater largely to the domestic market.

Timber logs, in the saw milling unit, are processed to various sizes as per client specifications and requirement in the automatic band saw machine. The unit processes local as well as imported species of timber logs, including Silver Oak, Teak, Pincoda, Meranti, etc, which caters mainly to the exhaustive construction industry. The timber sizes are also seasoned and kiln treated as per client requirement.

Block Boards are made from carefully selected high quality seasoned timber. Timber used in the block is seasoned under controlled temperature and humidity to get low moisture content. They are made from wooden un-sizes sourced from the saw mill unit, which undergo an elaborate process of kiln seasoning and treatment after which they are processed into batons in the multiple rip saw. These batons are then set as frames and hot pressed in the hydraulic press, with layers of veneer. The block boards manufactured in various sizes, caters mainly to the local market.

Plywood is constructed with layers of high quality veneers of uniform thickness which are bonded with carefully prepared glue and resin which gives superior bonding to the layers of veneer. They are manufactured from solid wood core and veneer of sorted out timber which is seasoned and dried through a conveyor drier under controlled temperature. They also undergo several types of treatment to make them termite proof, boiling water resistant, enhance their durability, etc.

All products are processed and manufactured under the close supervision of our experienced team with stringent quality control at all levels.

The group’s plantations are located beyond the Western Ghats, near Hassan, and produce coffee crops including the richly flavoured Arabica and Robusta. We also grow Pepper and other crops including Timber plantations. We cultivate coffee under a well-defined two-tier mixed shade canopy. Nearly 50 different types of shade trees are found in our coffee plantations. Shade trees prevent soil erosion and enrich the soil by recycling nutrients from deeper layers, protecting the coffee plants from seasonal fluctuations in temperature.

A wide variety of hill produce and fruit crops like pepper, cardamom, vanilla, orange and banana are grown.

The import – export operations cover a wide range of activities, mainly, import of timber for the saw mill unit and local trading. For the Middle East operations, various products are sourced through their local export unit.

We import premium quality wood and timber from across the globe including Malaysia, Burma and some African countries, for trading and for our wood industry. The imported species of timber logs, include Teak, Pincoda, Meranti, etc.

Our exports are mainly to the Middle East, through our indenting import unit in the Gulf. We mainly export plywoods, from our own and local sources.
